New ISBTs to Boost Residential Projects on Dwarka Eway

The two new upcoming ISBTs, one in Dwarka and another in Gurgaon, are set to provide connectivity/mobility fillip, boosting residential projects on Dwarka Eway.

The Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (DTIDC) , is likely to  soon start   work on Delhi’s new Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Dwarka  . This ISBT will come up in Sector 22, Dwarka, , near Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA)  and opposite Sector 21, Dwarka Metro Station. The upcoming ISBT is to be built over 27 acres of land which is in the  possession of   DTIDC.

The Dwarka ISBT  will be a modern bus terminus, offering passenger facilities comparable with the airport in order to provide the best of convenience and comfort to visitors . The ISBT building will be centrally air conditioned with a passenger lounge  on the lines of airports.   there will be a host of other facilities to provide a wholesome luxury experience. This modern building will have air conditioned waiting halls  and swanky washrooms.

This inter-state bus terminus at Dwarka , Delhi will have pick up and drop bays for taxis and auto rickshaws. There will be underground parking  for buses, besides a multi-level car parking facility. What more, this swanky transport facility to be developed under public-private partnership model, will house a five-star hotel and commercial area. Once complete, it will handle the passenger traffic of buses coming from Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan , besides Agra and Jaipur.

The proposed ISBT at Dwarka  on which work was held up due to Covid, will have multimodal connectivity. Coming up in front of Dwarka Sector 21 Metro Station, it will enjoy connectivity with both the Blue Line (Dwarka-Vaishali/Noida Electronic City) and the Airport Expressline . There will be a seamless travel facility between the new ISBT and the IGIA’s Terminal 3 through Airport Expressline and a bus shuttle service . Almost 1.5 lakh  passengers will daily benefit from this facility.

Besides this upcoming ISBT in Dwarka, Delhi, a new interstate bus terminal has also been planned by the Haryana Roadways, near Dwarka Expressway. This modern bus terminal will come up over 15 acre land  out of the 100 acre land parcel lying with Haryana State Industries and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) for public utility purposes. Earlier the land for the ISBT was identified at Rajiv Chowk but the idea was shelved as this piece of land was required for metro expansion. Because of this ISBT’s proximity to Dwarka Expressway and Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), it  will boost the connectivity of Dwarka Eway and the newly developed sectors – 58 to 115, of Gurgaon. Once operational both these ISBTs will  provide a big thrust to a large number of residential projects on Dwarka Eway, in turn leading to the growth of real estate .
